SUSTAINABLE
For barge transhipment, the terminal has 2 mobile Konecranes-Gottwald cranes, 1 electrically driven crane (new from February 2023) and 1 diesel-driven crane. The reach stackers are diesel-driven, all of the latest versions.
In order to achieve our aim of operating without emissions, the PIONEERS EU subsidy project from 2021 to 2025 will examine, together with about 50 market players and (semi-) government bodies, under which conditions emissions-free transhipment with reach stackers is possible, as well as emissions-free transport of terminal trucks and barges.
SAFETY
Hutchison Ports Belgium has several security certifications. We are AEO secure and have held AEO-F certification since 2012. Hutchison Ports Belgium was the first inland terminal to obtain ISPS certification.
The terminal of 11 hectares is fully fenced. Radiation detection equipment is present on the terminal. This is an investment from the US Government 'Megaports' together with Belgian Customs.
